As the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church, it is my privilege to welcome you to our church! Everyone here was once a first time guest like you. One by one over the years they chose to put down roots and grow together with this part of God’s family.
First Baptist Church was born in September of 1887 with 11 charter members. Since then the church has seen many changes. The original building and all its furnishings were lost to a fire in 1930, but 7 months later a new building was completed. Later additions like Tillman hall (our basement fellowship center) and our education wing have brought the facility to its present design.
While the facility and program has changed over the years, the real heart of First Baptist Church hasn’t changed. That heart is one of a life changing relationship with God through faith in Christ. Each of us who are members of FBC know the joy of a life of meaning and purpose and hope in Christ and we would love to share that life with you.

FELLOWSHIP
Coming to a new church for the first time can be a little intimidating.
We will do all we can to make your first time in our church an enjoyable experience. Dress comfortably. Probably the best definition of how our people dress would be “business casual” (check out the pictures on this site.)
We work hard at not judging people by the way they dress or any other superficial standards.
We won’t bring attention to you in the service but we will shake your hand and introduce ourselves.
We will give you a welcome packet which will tell you about the church and we will offer you a free DVD of the life of Christ based on the New Testament book of Luke. Included in the packet will be a registration card that will ask you for your address so we can keep you informed about happenings at church, but you are free to make your own choice about your personal information.
We will be available to answer any questions you have about the church or God or the Bible.
SUNDAY AT OUR CHURCH
WORSHIP SERVICE
Our Worship Service is at 10:45 AM on Sundays. Our worship features a blend of new and old praise songs and the preaching of God’s Word. We have child care during these services and a specialChildren’s Churchtime during the morning worship service preaching time.
OurSunday School, with Bible study classes for all ages is at 9:30 AM on Sunday mornings. Nursery care is also available for the little ones.
